After I saw a photo taken of me on the beach at my nephews wedding, it opened my
eyes to the weight I’d gained over the years. Then, my doctor told me my cholesterol
was up to 240. I think I realized I had been living like a 30 year old and, I wasn’t
anymore. Once you hit fifty and you get a report like from a doctor, you realize
it’s not just about looks. It’s about your health. Your life.
I started researching what my options were. I had tried so many fad diets that never
worked for me. For me, it was accountability. I needed someone or some thing to
hold me accountable to living a healthier life. I decided to try Mary Lou’s Weigh
and it worked. I loved the encouragement and the ongoing advice – that saved me
many times! The accountability really made the difference. It kept me motivated
because it was a constant reminder that I had the power to do this, or not. I had
to be accountable. To Mary Lou and to me!
I hit my goal weight and I’m actually staying there. The reason I’m able to maintain
my weight is because I still use the Platform every day. I make sure I stay within
two pounds of my goal. I don’t want to slip backwards. I don’t want my hard work
to go to waste. Plus, ever since I lost the weight I have more energy and I feel
better!

I went to the doctor for my annual checkup and that’s when he told me I was overweight.
He said I needed to lose at least 20 pounds because I was too heavy for my height
and it was unhealthy. That hit me really hard.
I immediately started using Mary Lou’s Weigh. That encouraged me to also change
my diet and start exercising. I hadn’t followed a healthy diet and exercise plan
in a long time. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to stay motivated, but Mary Lou
and the Platform kept me going. When I lost my first 10 pounds, I was ecstatic!
I wanted to hurry and lose the next 10 pounds so I could hear the happy music and
be reminded of what I just accomplished. Mary Lou’s Weigh helped me stay active
and have fun while working on my healthy new lifestyle.
While using the Platform, I also got a great network of friends and support through
Mary Lou’s Weigh. It helps me to talk to someone on a regular basis who knows a
lot about nutrition and exercise and who is making healthy changes in their life
too.
Since losing my weight, I feel a LOT better about myself. I love going shopping
for clothes and I can try on more things then I could before. Buying a smaller size
in jeans is a huge plus too. Going swimsuit shopping is easier since I like the
way my body looks. I like to see my curves and my toned muscles.
I’m still in the process of reaching my weight loss goal. Using my support network
and Mary Lou’s Weigh is helping me lose those last few pesky pounds while staying
happy and healthy.

My wife and I both needed to lose weight for a long time. We were eating the wrong
types of food and not exercising. My blood pressure kept increasing and my doctor
finally had to be put on medication to reduce it.
I needed something that would motivate me to stay on track, but allow me to create
a workout and eating regimen that worked for me. I started using Mary Lou’s Weigh
as a benchmark to monitor where I was and encourage me to keep going. I started
eating a lot of chicken instead of hamburgers. I started walking every night and
riding my stationary bike. If I heard I gained a pound, it would motivate me to
increase the amount of time I exercised that day and it prompted me to be even more
mindful about what I ate.
I now see muscle where I used to see flab. I love how people look at me differently
and I feel better about myself. Mary Lou’s Weigh even motivated my wife to start
losing her unhealthy weight too.

I wanted to lose weight for several reasons. From a personal standpoint, I was getting
pretty big and chunky. From a health standpoint, I knew the lifestyle I was leading
wasn’t healthy for my body.
I started using Mary Lou’s Weigh as an alternative to the other diets I had tried.
I spent a lot of time yo-yo dieting and nothing kept me on track. Mary Lou’s Weigh
is so encouraging. It served as a daily reminder that I needed to monitor what I
ate and drank in order to keep losing weight. I loved that Mary Lou celebrated with
me during my small half-pound victories and during my big 10-pound victories. It’s
exactly the motivation I needed to lose the unwanted pounds I had been carrying
around for years.
I continue to weigh daily in order to stay at my goal weight. I also continue to
drink a lot of water and watch what I eat. I have more energy. My whole body feels
better. My self-esteem is higher. And, I am finally able to keep up with my two-year
old son. I can’t imagine ever being 30 pounds heavier and I definitely can’t imagine
life without Mary Lou’s Weigh.
